This is a short newsletter because I would like you to take action this weekend. (Originally published on LinkedIn)
When the quarter started, I asked what metric you were measuring. Let’s end it with a checklist to help you evaluate where you stand and give you ideas for your next steps. A few weeks ago, I had a chance to train some African founders on Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) as part of a comprehensive changemakers program. We talked about definitions, why IMM matters, shortcomings in the field, IMM frameworks, the IMM cycle, case studies amongst other key areas.
IMM can feel overwhelming to an already maxed-out founder. Therefore, this checklist is an attempt to simplify it further and give you something to work with. Here is an infographic on the IMM cycle adapted from one of my slides:

Some pitfalls to avoid when measuring are: measuring too much, focusing on only outputs, ignoring stakeholder feedback and not acting on insights received. I created and shared this checklist with the attendees and I believe it would be useful to you too.
